jobun: "She is presently on life support but is brain dead. My question is pertaining to her soul. did her soul leave her body, or is it still tethered there since she is technically alive in body only

At present her body is still functioning albeit to a very limited degree from what you've said. We have to assume that if breathing support were withdrawn her body would stop functioning because it appears there is no brain activity. As I view the situation the tether between body and spirit - the so-called silver cord - will still be intact and her spirit will still be associated with her body, albeit perhaps very tenuously. If/when breathing support is switched off I think her body will die and at that point her spirit will become totally free.

, or is her soul stuck in a transition?

No nothing is "stuck" but she has yet to complete the transition from incarnate to discarnate life, to complete her 'passing-over'. She's not stuck but she's still not completely free of her now failing body.

I'm really upset about this and pray that she isn't stuck somewhere in between life & death."

Of course you're upset, totally understandably because it's horrible state for her to be in. But she's not trapped in some 'no-man's-land' situation although I expect she'll be aware of what's happened. I would expect her to be eager to complete her transition.

thank you mac. that was really what I was wondering. so if they prolong keeping her on life support, she will still be attached to her body. Is any part of her spirit in the spirit world (so to speak)

I don't think of her as 'parts'. In my mind's eye she'll still be 'attached' to her non-functioning body by this so-called silver cord as long as her body is apparently kept alive. But the silver cord isn't a 'fixed length'. (for want of another term) These things appear to 'stretch' almost without limit and hers will allow her spirit to be away 'at some distance' from the shell she's scarcely associated with now. More in the world of the spirit, by far, and not at all close to her body.

her spirit is strong, since she woke up from the dead.
She was never actually dead or she wouldn't be with you now. :) Perhaps she was closer to her almost non-functioning body than we might have expected. I just hope she'll be OK back in this world.

well she is now. she took a bunch of pills last Thursday, and this time it happened. She was found unresponsive in her home. Such a sad way to go, she had so many issues. I hope she is finally at peace.

This short thread began two years ago. I did write earlier that I hoped she would be OK back in the world she'd expected, planned and wanted to leave. What an awful time for that lady who must have been in great distress. It's a shame she wasn't able to cope with this world and couldn't be helped effectively.

I'm not sure it's the 'right thing' bringing back someone who had decided to end her life but as things stand medics have no choice and only a DNR can change things. Even then it can be traumatic for all involved.

As long as she had a normally developed brain that had a soul connection at one time, once the central brain stops functioning for a certain period of time the mind is instantly transferred to the soul body. There are some exceptions (Jesus intervention).

In her soul body she was very likely standing in the hospital room watching everyone until her guide came to get her.
