Yeah, the afterlife is pretty much a holodeck, lol… there’s nothing real or permanent about it. Even the way it’s structured isn’t real. From what I can gather, everyone pretty much has their own private little heaven or space. In order to be together, people have to actually travel to each other’s spaces. I’m willing to bet that there’s no such thing as a neighborhood there… with homes right next to each other and people living next door to each other. And why not? There’s no such thing as crime or prejudice in the afterlife realm, so why be worried about neighborhoods where large amounts of people live beside each other in close proximity? I don’t want that kind of existence, where nothing has true solidity or permanence… where things can instantly change with the whim of thought. No, thanks.

Why wouldn't folk live next-door to one another? Because it would be their personal choice.... Maybe they'd be sick of living cheek-by-jowl in a big city with myriad others? They won't all have enjoyed lives on idyllic acres of woodland or coast like some lucky individuals have done. Maybe they'll want to try it for themselves?

They're not choosing to live alone because they're worried about crime, drugs anti-social behavior et al. None of them exist BUT if you want to live alongside others the way you've described then you and they will be able to CHOOSE to do exactly that. And, dear Bruce, the things you desire so earnestly here will - if you still feel the same 'over there' - be there for you after you pass over. Maybe not everything, though, because I know you..... ;)

EVERYTHING will feel as real to you and your companions as things feel real in this world though. The significant difference will be that YOU and THEY will have far greater freedom and choice within the limits of that dimension. Every dimension has limits though - you won't find magic in them. You can find that in Penn and Teller's Las Vegas magic shows. ;)

Okay, that made me chuckle, but yeah, that’d be a big issue for me. Here’s a question I thought of the other night…

Just for the sake of argument, let’s say I did remain here after my body dies, instead of transitioning to the afterlife… what would my spirit guide or guardian angel or whatever do? Would they remain with me here, for the duration, or would they basically be like, screw this guy, we’re going back… he can work it out on his own, lol. For how long are spirit guides assigned to you? If you don’t have different ones with each incarnation, I’d imagine they’re with you for eternity, regardless of where you are?

If I believed you were truly interested, Bruce, I'd spend a few minutes answering what you'd asked. But I've known you a long time. ;) And "just for the sake of argument" doesn't interest me.

I’m truly interested. I put for the sake of argument because I knew you’d tell me that remaining here isn’t possible.

I never ask a question unless I expect an answer.

You could always humor me, lol… because I’m not a mind reader… I actually don’t know what your answer was gonna be…

But if anyone else wants to chime in…

I thought my answer obvious but I'll make it clear - I'm not interested any more in "just for argument". I'll leave responses to all the other active members here..... ;)

Here’s another way to look at it… it’s been said some souls decide to remain on Earth until either after a burial or until the family has said goodbye, to be close to the family. Would the spirit guides remain at their side all that time, or would it be a situation where they simply wait for the soul to return, and welcome it then?

So I came across this video of someone’s NDE, and I thought I’d share it. He mentions a set of scrolls, which are supposedly meant to represent our life plans or whatever. Again, the idea that I’d willingly plan this piece of shit life I’ve had… well, that notion can just go and blow me. But the way he was describing the life selection process, like how much money will one have, where they live, etc… it made me wonder if say, you decided you want to be the leader of a land (i.e. President) or a celebrity, if it’d really be that simple as saying you want that when planning stuff. That would be pretty trippy… knowing at that point that you’ll be a President, and having it be as simple as saying you want it, but in the actual life having to go through the whole campaign and election process. The part about animals I believe, and I’m sure our animals are all there. The way some people describe afterlife gardens - how they seem alive is always funny to me… ALL gardens are alive… especially Earth gardens. What do you think plants are? They’re LIFE forms… just plant life. But everything is alive in a garden, lol. Our gardens are alive, here. Again, as I’ve asked in another thread… what’s underneath a stream or ocean in the afterlife realm? What’s under the grass? What are trees or plants rooted to? Anyway… here’s the video.
