The UK is pledging to ban the use of petrol/gasoline and diesel engines in new vehicles by 2030.

That date is just around the corner and the likelihood our own vehicle manufacturers will be able to meet such a demand is uncertain. The present big push is in developing electric vehicles but the alternative may be hydrogen powered ones. Adapting just to the needs of electric vehicles will be enormous, complex and costly. Hydrogen powered vehicles need to be scaled even more than electric ones, and so will the necessary infrastructure to supply enough gas. It could be a fiasco.

I fear my tiny country is trying to set the pace for the rest of the countries of the world but may pay a huge economic price without making a meaningful impact on overall global pollution and the environment.
