Oh thanks very much, mac!! How very observant! Our neighbours' son aged eighteen has sadly just died after an epileptic fit at his special school and I told them about my on again/ off again beliefs to be met with mirth. I can't help feeling the freedom of getting older as it tends not to matter so much what people think!

I understand what you say about getting older!

But that's really sad about your neighbour's son and it ties in (although it might not have been relevant to that young man) with what I listened to on the 1pm Radio 4 news this morning. (AZ) The report was about certain specialist doctors now being able to prescribe cannabis oil extract for certain epilectic seizure sufferers but to date no such prescriptions have been issued. I think it was legalised towards the end of last year so that's four months and sufferers still haven't had chance to try that medication. Here in the US cannabis products can be bought over the counter in some states although I fear that may be several steps too far and that major problems are only just around the corner as more and more users start consuming on a regular basis.

It's also sad that your neighbours will be desperate but probably unaware their son is now free of the seizures that affected him in this world. :( You did the right thing by telling them of your own situation and your feelings - it gave them a chance to investigate. Were it not for a colleague doing the same for me - someone I later learned was a medium and became our friend - I don't know where I would be today. Almost certainly not doing this!

Hopefully they will get some signs. I wouldn't want to meet one of those heavy users of cannabis coming the other way in a car, but I think the medical kind has had that component removed. I've heard that doctors are not issuing prescriptions yet as there are no clear guidelines, clinical trials and knowledge of side effects. Meanwhile desperate families couldn't care less about side effects and just want relief!

Yeah I agree about pot heads and their driving. I used to be in favour of legalising pot because it used to be claimed it had little harmful effect but that's all changing. Similar thing with vaping vs. smoking. Vaping is probably less harmful than inhaling the carcinogens found in fag smoke but that doesn't necessarily equate to vaping being benign. Its effects long-term are unknown and facts are emerging all the time now and eventually those facts may show it's not as innoccuous as first thought.

I’ve never been a smoker and not a huge fan of medical marijuana, but if it helps certain folks in need and their health stabilizes and/or improves during treatment, then more power to them.

I believe that it’s cancer patients that benefit more from the usage although I may be wrong.

Hmm.. when was his birthday? I’m not showing any notification or seeing that it occurred. I’m sorry that I’ve missed it and will have a look at my settings.

We do enjoy Chuck here and glad to have him :)
