    Dreams of the afterlife

    Hi

I've been on this forum quite a bit over the last couple of days, and have mentioned some of my dreams.

One old dream that I once had, was of myself in a great hall surrounded by some wise elders. It seemed that we were standing on pillars in this great hall, in a sort of circle. There was about 4- 6 elders in the circle with me. I cannot remember much about the dream, other that these elders, seemed wise, and kindly.

I have read recently about there being different learning halls in the afterlife.

Was this what I saw in my dream, was it some sort of counsel?

Anyone else had similar experience to this?

Thought it would be good to start a thread relating to dreams and the afterlife, as dreams have always fascinated me.

Also does anyone know of any good books relating to dreams?

Thanks for reading this, and I look forward to reading your replies.

I found a site called Dreamhawk when I was searching for some information last year about Australian Aborigine Dreamtime. It seems to be a pretty good site, but not necessarily afterlife related.

I don't know what you saw in your dream. It could be a council of elders, or it could be just a dream.

Mikey tells me there are all kinds of learning halls in the Afterlife. He also says there are wise "elders" ( spiritually advanced souls according to Mikey). Is this what you saw in your dream? It is possible. I personally have never had an experience like this. But I do feel dreams are a huge communication source from the Afterlife! In fact I know it! I know Poeticblue has had some amazing dreams! Check out some of her posts.

As Birki points out, dreams may simply be dreams but there's always a possibility it's a form of teaching and learning for you.

One problem is, though, that we may absorb all kinds of information when awake, information we don't consciously recall seeing/hearing and such information may manifest as dreams. Would that be counsel or simply a dream? It depends.... If you were being helped to understand the bigger spiritual scene then such unremembered memories might be pressed into service as a helpful image. If there wasn't anyone trying to help then that wouldn't be the case.

My own stance is that balance is the key. There are individuals who attribute every dream as meaningful, ignoring the possibility it's just a dream. Better, surely, to wait to see if early dreams are supplemented by others with apparently deeper meanings which you understand because of information provided by the earlier ones. That's the scientific approach to dreaming and for some it's just not 'sexy' enough, not exciting or full-of-meaning enough.

Yer pays yer money and yer makes yer choice....

Thanks Mac, Carol and Mikey and Birki. Still not sure what this dream was about. It was when I was a teenager, and had never read anything on the afterlife. I remember it now, when I read of the great halls of learning. I feel that it was some wise elders in counsel with me. I cannot remember what was going on in my life at the time, as it may make more sense if I could.

I've read a thread regarding the summer land, which discusses lots of dreams. Read quite a bit since my post by poetic blue. I am going to start reading her blog, as I am finding her posts regarding dreams fascinating

    Hi all

Had the weirdest feeling in my dream that woke me up a couple of hours ago, and wondered if anyone could explain it. I remember a fragment of the dream as I woke up almost immediately. I was dreaming that I was in a room somewhere and I was checking people's id. I was checking this old mans id ( someone I don't know), when I suddenly felt like I was hit by a powerful bolt by some energy bolt. It was so strong and quick, that I came back to myself in the dream and wondered what had hit me, was I hit by lightening, because there had also been a flash of light at the same time as the bolt. I did not feel any pain, just this incredible bolt. I then woke up in my room, and wondered if I had been hit by lightening in real life. I have never experienced anything like this, and wondered if anyone else has, that maybe able to explain it. I have my own theories. Was I at that moment having an OBE?, and returning into my body?

Well, no one has got back to me. But in the meantime, I did some googling, and realised that what I had was an OBE. Wow, not sure how I feel about that. It was a little scary, but not painful at all, more the shock of it happening. Not sure why I had this. Think it is because of my curiosity in the afterlife, that these things are happening to me, as a way of providing proof, that these things do happen. Wonder what's next, I feel like I am on a learning path at the moment, because I have so many unanswered questions.

Have been doing lots of reading, as has been recommended on this forum. Currently reading victor zammits case for the afterlife. From little bits I read, I am then googling for more info. Was reading about materialization mediums, which I had only read a little about in the past. Also read victors comical spoof court appearance with prof Stephen Hawkins regarding his denouncement of the afterlife.

Really enjoying this all so far.

After my earlier response I didn't get back this time as your enquiry subject isn't my specialty. An OBE may well be what you've experienced but time will tell if that's so and if anything develops from it.

You've mentioned physical mediumship (materialisation mediums) which is kinda my field as it was once a bigger part of Modern Spiritualism than it is now. I never give advice but my suggestion is that you don't dive around too much looking at issues which may not be important. There's a wealth of evidence about the afterlife available to study but physical mediumship is a very specialised field for example.

If you build gradually on the simple evidence and guidance it will give you a base of understanding which can carry you forward to other issues.

Thanks for getting back to me Mac. I will take your advice. Still reading Victor Zammit- evidence of the afterlife. And the bit I'm at is about physical mediumship. I won't be delving into it, other than reading about it.

Hopefully I'm being guided. I Read an informed article recently as well about the real dangers of using an ouja board and automatic writing, so I won't be going anywhere near that either. Funnily enough this article came about, after I wrote on the forum about my own past use of a pendulum to answer questions. So I really do feel that I am being guided.
