    How are you so sure?

I really, really hope there is an afterlife, but how are you positive that there is one?

That could need a great deal of writing but may I ask you a question first? Why have you chosen the user-name of 'Ghost'? Does it have significance for you personally?

I will answer this question with just a few sentances. I went from believing there has to be "something more than this", to KNOWING there IS something more than this, in 2007 after the passing of my 20 year old son. I am positive there is an Afterlife from all the personal experiences I have had since that time. My experiences (that continue to occur) is enough for me! No doubts! NONE!
By the way, welcome to the forums. I am curious on your user name as well.
    Carol

Welcome to Afterlife Forums. Pleased to see you here.

I also want to know why you have chosen your name GHOST.
I also believe that there is an afterlife.

Unlike Carol any response from me would need many sentences of explanation. But for many individuals only their own experiences are likely to be convincing and for many bereavement can be a key that unlocks the door of understanding.

If someone had told me why they were positive that there is an afterlife before I got the key for my personal door, I doubt it would have had much impact on my life or my ideas although I accept that others may see matters differently.

Welcome, dear Ghost! To my mind, there are two approaches to convincing oneself that we are eternal beings. Personal experience is the easier one, since revelation happens in a heartbeat; but for most of us, only patient and dogged research is sufficient to do the trick. Please go to The Fun of Dying's website, find the Study Guide at Resources, and start reading! Both mainstream science and mainstream Christianity have been ignoring nearly 200 years of abundant and consistent afterlife evidence, but that no longer means that we must share in their ignorance. Happy revelations to come, dear friend!

I've always had a feeling that this life wasn't all there is. I was raised to believe that when you die, that's it. You just cease to exist. But even from a young age I knew something wasn't right about that. I knew deep down that my parents and their church leaders couldn't be right. So I did research. I started reading about NDEs behind my parents' backs, talked to people who had lost loved ones, and just found all the info on the afterlife that I could. I looked for patterns in stories and scrutinized everything that came my way for about four years or so. I even talked to one of my friends who was a staunt atheist about it, and even he said he wasn't sure about the whole "we cease to exist thing" since matter cannot be destroyed or created. That really caught my attention. In the end, I came to the conclusion that this life isn't all there is. I now know without a shadow of a doubt that when I die, I will go into the light. I know I'll see those that I love who left before me. The evidence points to it so much that now it's as real to me as this keyboard I'm typing on.

Welcome, dear friend! It is wonderful to be able to assure you that all the evidence you could possibly need of what actually is going on is abundantly available to you now - you need only begin to seek it. And the reality of what actually is going on will far exceed your most optimistic imaginings!
