The thing I'm scared of about OBE's is that they would become spontaneous-that I wouldn't be able to control them. But you've embraced your gift, it seems, without fear, and I'm glad you are able to have these experiences. I'm sure they help you to cope with the trials of daily life, knowing there is something glorious in addition to what is here in this dimension.
Hi there friend I was going to reply to this earlier but got caught up. I think we posted at the same time so I didn't want to make it seem like I ignored your reply. But I use to be terrified of OBE's. Sometimes I still am. But with the help of everybody here and some reasearch online, I have learned to calm down when it happens and to let it flow. I find that when I remain calm everthing pretty much still seems normal except for the fact that I am floating and walking on what feels like air. (Hard to explain).

I'm still learning how to embrace this slowly though. The more I do, the more its seeming to happen now and the stronger my experiences become. If at one point you think you may want to explore this and you have questions please let me know.

Poeticblue, thank you for replying. The thing that you said about floating or walking on air-that did happen to me during my experience! I couldn't believe my feet were touching the ground, because they really felt like they weren't! I wasn't out of body but I felt so light. And the bliss I felt-certainly not an earthly feeling. It was definitely not an obe though. I think I was about to have one-then suddenly the floating on air feeling, the tingling, suddenly stopped after a few minutes. I never had this type of experience again. When it was over my body felt like a heavy shell and material objects seemed clunky and unremarkable-as if I became aware of a lighter way of being. I never looked at physical life the same way again. If I may ask, do you feel like you are in a vibratory state during these experiences, or do you have only the floating and walking on air feeling? I assumed the vibratory state I was in would have ended if I did have an obe-but maybe not.

    Ilovelearninhg,

You did have an OBE. Sometimes even out of our bodies it may seem like we are still half way in. Allow me to explain what happens to me before, during, and after a projection.

First stage: I hardly ever project when I initially go to sleep because at that point I'm tired from a long day and I just crash. But it is when I wake up in the middle of the night, stay awake for 30 minutes to an hour, and then gradually go back to sleep - that is when I have an OBE. I dont know why that is but it never fails unless I say a very long prayer for it not to happen. And so, after waking up in the middle of the night and then gradually go back to sleep I feel a very heavy and distinct drowsiness come over me. It has been said, that someone who is ill and is about to die, feels very drowsy for days and sort of slips in and out of a state of life and death within those few days. I feel like before I am about to project, I am experiencing the sensations of the process of dying but I'm not going to die. I am going to project out of my physical body into where we initially go when we die which is the astral realm. This happens to all of us when we sleep, but most people do not seem to catch it when it happens. And so I go from waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to sleep, to out of nowhere feeling extremely drowsy and my body cannot seem to fight this sensation anymore.

Second stage: When I have finally accepted that I can no longer fight this state of drowsiness, I just completely give up the fight. It is then that I feel myself lift out of my body. Sometimes I hear a radio frequency type sound as if I am transitioning from one realm to the next. Sometimes I even hear voices speaking as I am lifting out. In the past when this happened, I would fight the projection so hard that I would end up in a paralysis state where I felt like my physical body could not move. Now I am learning not to fight it anymore and to simply just lift out. And so when I lift out its as if someone has me by a string and is gently springing me upwards towards the ceiling. I always initially find myself up in the air and then I slowly bounce down to the ground much like an inflated balloon. Then I learn to stand up and steady my feet on the ground. As I'm walking it feels like I am walking on the moon or something. Like gravity does not exist. Slow, steady, and light steps I take. You asked if I feel like I'm in a vibratory state. Do you mean literally feeling vibrations? If so, it all depends on my state of mind. If I get scared I can sort of feel my "spiritual self" try to latch onto my physical self so that I will not project. (Bad idea because it causes me to feel paralyzed). Where as if I just let it all go, I come out with ease. I only feel weird sensations when I'm scared. But when I'm not scared I simply just pop out. That is when I explore my room, living room, the outside area.. eventually it all turns into a lucid/vivid dream. Most of the time I am flying or having conversations with people I've never met and yet I feel like they are my best friends. One person in the astral realm even gave me advice how to better myself here on earth. He pointed out certain things I did that I need to stop. I have never met this man in my life!

Third stage: When the projection is coming to an end I either zap back into my body very quickly or I slowly drift back into my body. I remember one time I slowly drifted back into my body and it was as if my spiritual self was trying to fit back inside my physical self. Think of how it may feel trying to put a wet long sleeved shirt on. It is hard to put your arms through the sleeves when it is wet. Thats how it feels sometimes when I return back to my body. Its as if I am trying to go back into something that is not a natural fit. But alas, I always return. It is in the state of my return, where I always see my dead cat or hear voices ect... again, its as if I am crossing back from one realm to another. In this case I am crossing back from the astral to the physical.

Back to the vibratory state... if you meant a feeling of freedom or feeling happy.. well I definitely feel lighter, more powerful, and that I can do anything that I want in this state. I will tell you one thing... YOU HAD AN OBE. Congrats

i love learning: My son had an obe and experienced intense vibrations when he was waking up.

Poeticblue: You said "And so after realizing I had reached the Summerland’s I saw that my daughter (who was sleeping the same time as I was) was there and she had joined me (this is not unusual as we are always in each others dreams)." By any chance, did she remember visiting "fairyland" as she calls it, with you? I meant to ask you this.

Thank you very much, Poeticblue, I appreciate your detailed response. I want to say more on this but I will have to reply tomorrow.

Bella, that is interesting about your son. My vibrations were light, more like a tingling.

I guess this varies with obe experiences. My son was frightened from the vibrations. He said he felt the headboard shaking.

Ahh. The fairytale land she told me about a month or two before where she saw me in a dress, surrounded by flowers, standing underneath a "gazebo'. What 5 year old child uses such language!

To answer your question, she had asked me when we were going back to the "land of color". I told her that I didn't know. Very happy yet depressing moment which is why I didn't want to bring that part up.

The land of color.. yes.. that pretty much would describe it.

To be honest, when I dreamt of this particular dream that this thread is talking about, I woke up having felt like I visited the "childrens" part of the summerlands. I mean we all share the same space there. But this particular part seemed like the main part where young children go when they die initially. Or perhaps, this is what they see when they die or where they go when they dream at night. I can't possibly explain the beauty I saw or felt without doing an injustice to the summerlands. I made "rose petal angels" when I was there. Much like a kid would make "snow angels" in the snow. I felt like a cheesy, vibrant, young kid. I wanted to stay that way. I did not want to wake up ever.

Wow, Poeticblue. That is so amazing! My son said he felt like he was in a "children's area" as well. He felt like he was in some version of Disneyland!
