I've been reading about spirits having an easier time with anything electrical rather than moving objects, but this is what happened in our home a couple of years ago. Will have to give a bit of background first... Our home was built around 1908; with the exception of the original family and the second family, no other person has lived here longer than 3 years. The house stood empty on two separate occasions for over one year at a time.
To make the long story short, we finally accepted we weren't the only residents in this house. My husband, a uber skeptic is now a believer.
A couple of years ago we left town for about a week and asked our neighbor to come over once a day to turn some lights on, collect the mail - you know, making it look as if someone lived here. I remember telling my neighbor about just a few of our "supernatural" experiences, but you know the "look".... the look that says, "yeah, sure sure, whatever".
The first night after we left, our neighbor left 2 voice messages on my cell phone, asking me to call her asap, so I did. As soon as she heard my voice she said, "Now I believe your house is haunted!!" This is what happened. She came over to turn some lights one, she was talking with her mother on the phone and was getting to leave using the back door. She said that while she had her hand on the door know, she turned around to take one last look and she saw one of my 26oz. candles fly across the hall and land in the bathroom. It landed with such force her mother heard it and asked what had happend. She said (brave lady!) she went back to pick it up, and there was no crack, was in perfect condition. She went to look, thinking someone may be hiding there, but of course the house was "empty".
The following day she called me and said that when she returned, every single kitchen cabinet door and drawer was open, top row and bottom rows. She said that at that point she felt the need to tell whoever was there that she was a friend of mine and was just doing what I had asked her to do. After that, nothing else happened.
Our home was also investigated by a couple of paranormal groups; the first group from the Dallas-Ft.Worth area also picked up EVPs thateven my untrained ear can understand. They also put pics of the investigation on their website. Wish I knew how to post the EVPs here; one EVP is the sound of a young female saying "Excuse me", the other EVP sounds like a much older lady who says "Go away", and they also picked up a male voice saying "Never" (though I am not too sure about this third one).
Any idea about the flying candle and the kitchen cabinet doors and drawers all open? I've always asked to not do anything like that around me or I'dfreak, and so far it's been fine (we have been living here for the past16+years).
I should add that they/he/she have also played with electrical appliances. One event was rather amusing - though I did not think so whn it happened. DH and I were sitting in the living room watching a move; the chandelier in the living room was on, the movie was lousy and in one scene you see a little boy going down the basement stairs. My husband said, "Just watch, I can tell what's going to happen. He goes down the basement and the lights go off". At exactly the point where the basement light goes out in the movie, our chandelier turned itself off! Coincidence? I rather doubt it.
Your opinions much appreciated
