    Hi Bella,
Mikey tells me that you heard your husband's voice. When I am talking to Mikey, I actually hear his voice (how he sounded when he was on earth). Mikey tells me this is not your memory, it is his actual voice that you are hearing telepathically. This is huge validation for me when I am talking to Mikey. I know it is him. He sounds the same and talks to me the same as when he was here on earth. The pendulum gives me the visual "validation" of what I am hearing. (I know I will always use the pendulum as I like the "visual validation" with what I am doing). Bella, your hubby again is giving you validation that it is truly him that you are hearing! He is doing well with communication I feel!
Mikey tells me when it comes to communicating with loved ones on earth, accents are not gone as it can give validation. But he does say that in Heaven (or whatever term you choose to call the Afterlife) , they do not communicate to each other there with an "accent". Communication there is by "thought". If that makes sense. Your "thought" doesn't have an accent. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much, Carol and Mikey. I had forgotten to ask the mediums whether, when they heard the word "squats," or, in one instance, a made up, funny, family word that he used to tell our dog, they heard it in his actual voice. I guess not - as perhaps this was telepathic as well.

Does Mikey miss any of the earthly ways? I read all of this and it makes me sad. I'm not sure I want to live eternally in silence. I can't imagine not talking and hearing. I understand telepathic but a silent world? I always wonder if my son is lonely without us.

    our etheric bodies

Members of Afterlife Forums, along with some visitors, will likely understand and accept that after our physical deaths we don't just disappear, we don't just cease to exist.

One matter that readers may find difficult to grasp is that of the form in which we live on; many think we don't have bodies. But teachers and guides tell us, and there are many recorded accounts, that after death we don't change into something completely different. We still have bodies which are recognizably similar in appearance to those we had when incarnate. What's less clear, however, is what our bodies have inside them.... Carol, perhaps you'll ask Mikey to help us out on a few questions that may open up other avenues of thought and further questions?

Living, as we are, 'in-the-body' we're very aware of some of our bodily functions although most happen in the background. It's not long since your passing, Mikey, and you'll still know how it feels to be tired, out of breath, hungry and thirsty etc. To give us all some impression of how it is now for you, may I ask some simple questions? The answers may help us gain an impression at how one feels as a discarnate individual.

We need our muscles primarily because of gravity and friction. Do you experience either of those forces in the etheric and are you aware if you, too, have muscles? If so can they be made bigger by exercise as they would in our physical world? If so, would there be any usefulness in doing that?

When we're working hard and get out of breath (or suffering from illness) we are very much aware of our breathing. Do you breathe in your world? Do you ever get 'out of breath' like you used to here?

We get hungry, thirsty and tired. We eat, drink, rest and sleep because we have to. Do you experience any of these?

When you look at your bodies, do you see hair on your arms, legs etc? Do you have finger and toe nails and, if so, do they grow? I guess you have hair on your head but does it grow and need attention?

From what we're taught you don't need to speak or to walk because focused thought takes care of both. How does that feel for you personally compared with what you remember of speech and movement when in-the-body?

    Hi Mokandi,
Please do not feel sad. You absolutely will not be living eternally in silence! Mikey says there is much "conversation, entertainment, music, fun, etc." in Heaven. It is just "how we communicate and hear" there that is different. Mikey tells me that in Heaven, communication is so much easier and fluent. It takes little effort! How things "sound" is more precise and beautiful. Does Mikey miss earthly ways? He tells me what he doesn't miss "earthly ways", but he does miss "his interactions" with loved ones here. He says that many loved ones "miss" his communication attempts here. He believes that some of these loved ones think he is "gone" but he is not. He wishes they could be more open to this.
Mikey also tells me that we are rarely lonely in Heaven. If we choose to be alone, we can. But this is not common. Souls generally "hang together" in groups.

    Hi Mac,
Good questions. I never thought of asking some of these. Mikey tells me that we are all energy. When we pass over we leave our earthly shell and our "energy" resonates to a different frequency as we transition to the Afterlife. We choose how our "energy" will appear to others in Heaven. Generally we appear as we did in our most recent life. Most often, we will choose to appear younger versus very old if we lived a long time here. We will appear with hair and fingernails etc. just like on earth. But we don't need to get a haircut! We "appear" that we have a body, but this body does not have organs or actual muscles like on earth. There is not the concept of gravity. We move freely.
Mikey tells me when we first get to Heaven, we often continue with certain earthly ways as we get use to being "back home". We may want to lift weights, exercise, eat our favorite foods, etc. But we will come to realize that this is no longer necessary. We do not get short of breath with activity. The amount of effort is so much less as we do not have our heavy physical body and the concept of gravity.

Mikey tells me that Heaven (or whatever term you choose to use) is all different frequencies of energy that correlate with love.

This is very interesting, Carol and Mikey. Thank you for framing this Mac, and thank you for this great response. I read Michael Newton again (thanks Ravensgate) and found out that there are games played, like Red Rover, and even dodge ball, so I can view my husbands activities as recreation, rather than rehabilitation. That was my original question.
On an issue also related to communication, my son, once again, experienced some kind of travel experience last night, with vibrations and chills (in this very hot weather). Like me, with eyes closed, he saw my husband on the left side of his visual field, and he appeared to him as though on an old television. Is there something about the upper left of one's visual field that rings any bells with anyone here, in terms of apparitions? I seem to be seeing this often.

    thanks, Carol, thanks Mikey

I hope that helps folk a little - it's certainly helped me inasmuch as I'm not too far off the mark in what I write....

I think you put it well, Mikey, in saying: "We "appear" that we have a body, but this body does not have organs or actual muscles like on earth." It's how we project ourselves and confirms that we live on after our passing with an appearance fundamentally unchanged from how we were in-the-body.

Given another forum - and the time - it's a subject which could be pursued further to gain a better impression and understanding of the working of the next level(s). If folk understood that better they might also be better able to understand the whole notion of life, death and the afterlife. (and the 'forelife' )

It's wonderful to read Mikey's communications, dear Carol, and to find that everything he says both confirms and expands on what I have learned in decades of studying the afterlife evidence! The dead have been giving us bits of this information for more than a hundred and fifty years, so I have surmised a lot of this - that we eat for awhile, but we don't have internal organs; that we have fine, alabaster-like bodies that are strong but that don't have (or need) actual muscles. That we choose our age-appearance, and generally we choose to look like a beautiful version of the way we looked in the prime of our most recent lifetime. That neither time nor gravity is objectively real there. Well, to put all of this together painstakingly and with a a lot of guesswork over many years is good, I guess - it's better than not knowing. But then to have it all gloriously confirmed by a beloved friend who is living it right now is wonderfully far beyond thrilling for me! Thank you, dear friends. I love this!!

This is all interesting, but I am still wondering specifically about communication with those who have passed. I am reading a work by Lisa Williams, who is a medium. I find it quite depressing, despite some overlap with what you all have said in this thread. What I am reading is that (according to her guide) those who have passed should stop communicating because it requires too much energy. On the other hand, she also says that some souls have, as their job, the communication with those on the earth plane (Mikey is an example). There has been no communication with me for a few weeks now and I feel abandoned (but then, once per week was not enough to help me, so I am truly a spoiled brat, quite demanding). The last time I went to a spiritualist service, (two weeks ago) the medium said "Your husband is stepping aside to let others speak to you." How awful of me to be disappointed, and to think that I only needed to hear from him when it might have been my father speaking to me (he passed two months before my husband and I have not even processed this - it is too painful to remember his smiling face and love). So I am struggling to understand where my hubby is now. He does not come to me in my dreams (I can't remember), or my son's dreams (since he saw him in that ceremony - this could not be replicated, as my son asked to be taken again, taking over his dream, and went nowhere but to clear blue areas). It does not feel like he is near me or stroking my hair (as one medium said he was doing) or my face (as he liked to do while in his physical body - I was just too lucky and I knew it). So basically, there is no communication right now. He might be studying, but I, unfortunately, don't feel like a good or productive human being anymore, where I had been the problem solver and bundle of positive energy. If it is true that death exists, that woman - the old me - is truly dead.
