I don't think it's a matter of spiritual OR science.

Your tongue has taste buds that are able to detect salty and sweet flavors. This information is transmitted by neurons to your brain where it is interpreted.

Also, peanut butter and chocolate taste delicious. Knowing -- or not knowing -- the mechanism by which we experience deliciousness doesn't make the flavor less pleasant. I can drive my car whether or not I know how internal combustion engines work. The experience and the mechanism are two separate things.

Unfortunatley I have no clue what any of that meant. I function with my right brain as opposed to my left. What I experience is spiritual simply put.

And you are welcome Billy. I see you are perhaps a michael jackson fan!

Have you tried any of the OBE techniques??????

Billyjean: P.S. That is a very cool way to end a nightmare. If I become lucid in a nightmare I call on my spirit guide and fly as far as I can into the sky. I had one of my summerland visits after doing this before.

Hi, riding out this hurricane and online sporadically.

We talked about the reasons I'm unable to try the techniques...for the time being, I'm OBE-ing vicariously through you

    poeticblue,
The hurricane is finally out of here. Lost power and it was a long night.

In the early morning hours, I was dozing fitfully and had a few waking moments, one of which was nothing I'd ever experienced.

Lying under the covers, it felt as If someone had grabbed me, from on top of the covers, sort of like a full body grab. Then I felt a cold sensation over my heart for a second or so. Then it abated as I came to.

At the time I didn't know the status of my husband, a firefighter who was out all night, abd had no way of contacting him. All sorts of things flashed through my mind. Fortunately, he came home briefly but then had to run out for a fire call.

Anyway I thought I'd share that with you.

I am so glad you are safe and alive my friend! I've seen pictures of the aftermath and what a freaking mess! Glad to hear from you though.

I'm not exactly sure what you experienced Sapphire..very interesting indeed. I know that if a friend or a loved one is suffering through something, I can actually feel an anxious and somewhat sickening sensation in my heart and the pit of my stomach. A lot of the times I would feel these things before even being told that something was wrong. I have confirmed this with one of my friends on many occasions.

    Sapphire

I think I experienced the same as you a couple of nights ago. I tried to dismiss it as I couldn't understand it. But it was like you experienced a full body grab. I was sleeping, and became aware of myself. I then felt as though someone put their whole body over mine, and envelope it in a loving embrace. There was nothing sexual about it. It was a feeling of pure love and closeness to someone.

Was this by any chance like your experience?

    Poetic blue, any ideas?

    Hi Billyjean,

No, this didn't feel loving at all. In fact, I felt a twinge of fright, and I wriggled as I gained consciousness, trying to "shake it off" when the chill over my heart happened. It was just befuddling.

Amazing how you experienced the same thing but with a different twist. It was definitely a first for me.
