Do We Assume The Same Roles In Each Of Our Lifetimes?

Rate this Entry
Do we assume the same roles in each of our lifetimes? For example, will I be my son's mother in all of my lifetimes, or do we switch around? Also, is my close family in all of my lifetimes with me, or do we often split up?

Before one can have a thorough understanding of our different natures in each of our lifetimes, one must first understand the nature of our soul, which is perhaps better referred to as the Self. Our self, which the spiritual, aware, enlightened part of us that is truly who we are. As R. Craig Hogan stated in one of his previous blog posts, the Self has no gender and no human failings. So, we have no real gender. Because us this, we have the ability to switch genders during our different lifetimes. It's not unheard of for people to stick to one gender most of the time, but everyone experiences both genders at some point.

The purpose of switching is genders is often to learn a new lesson. The same is true with family relationships. You chose to be your son's mother in this lifetime because there was a lesson to be learned from it. It's possible that, in a different lifetime, you two were sisters, father and daughter, or that you had any other type of family relationship!

Groups of souls tend to stick together in a sort-of family called a soul group. There is no mother, child, or any specific family relations in the true nature of the soul group, but rather everyone is surrounded in an immense environment of love and kindness! Isn't that wonderful? Normally, people in a soul group incarnate together, but this is not always the case. One member of your group may choose to incarnate with others to get a different experience. Or, it is possible to incarnate into an alien world. If one chooses to do this, one likely must incarnate with others who regularly incarnate into life on that planet. Another possibility is that someone in the soul group will choose to stay behind. They may volunteer to be another's spirit guide and help them grow, or they might just feel that they don't need to incarnate at that moment. Earth lives happen in the blink of an eye, so it's not like those staying behind will have to spend years pining for their loved ones.

So, it appears that we're free to pick what type of relationships (but successful and unsuccessful) that we would like to have in our earthly lives. It's hard to know for sure exactly why we chose to embark on this particular adventure, but one thing is certain: we are not alone! We also have help! In fact, even some of the people we despised most in life, actually turn out to be eternal friends helping us out!

But if we get to choose to incarnate (is that the same as reincarnate), then why would one choose (or did they choose?) to be, for example, severely disabled, i.e., elephantitis, visually and hearing impaired, etc.
P.S. You will find out that I am terribly curious and full of questions! LOL!

Hi Beverleysaindon! "to incarnate" basically means "to be born into a body". "To reincarnate" just means "to be born into a body again". The only difference between the two is that latter implies that the person has already lived another life. Don't worry too much about the distinction - they're pretty much interchangeable.

I'm glad that you are curious and full of questions, dear friend! We need people to start asking questions so that people can start to find out the truth. Anyway, there are many reasons that people would choose to be severely disabled. Most of the time, it is because they can learn a lesson in their life that way. You see, suffering is a great tool, it humbles us and teaches us to become more spiritually advanced. So each life, we incarnate into different life situations where we can learn different things. Think of it like enrolling in an advanced calculus class. You may not enjoy calculus while you're taking it, but you know that the skill will really help you.

Does that clarify what I am talking about here for you? If you've got more questions, by all means start a forum post about them so everyone can provide you with answers! The truth is out there - it's our job to get to everyone!

Sorry, but it really does not clarify...I guess I would have to buy your book to understand your version of the after life. The biggest reason being is that I am hoping that my after life with be filled with peace and love and a glorious sensation of warmth with not only my loved ones, and friends and new friends but with God, Jesus, all the angels and Saints, etc...heaven. I don't want to be bouncing around from one life lesson to another. I've had enough learning and life lessons, after being deserted by my mother at 14, living on my own since, getting in the Army, hair stylist/barber, then at 35 and a single parent an honours degree in Computers IT specializing in hardware/software for the disabled in government. And now I am 53, and been medically retired since 49. I would
just want to be in heaven, rest and take in all the
wonderful beauty and glory as I previously mentioned. So, question is: am I going to have to bounce from one life to another or can I have my heaven I hope for with God, Jesus, etc.? (I didn't post this in a new forum as it still deals with my previous question, etc.)
    Thanks, Beverley

Hi Beverly! Actually, I do not have a book (maybe someday). I would, however, highly recommend for you Roberta Grimes's book, The Fun of Dying. If you send me a private message with your name and address, I'll mail you a free copy of the book. The truth is meant to be spread, dear friend, and I am glad to do my part in that.

Anyway, there is really only one afterlife, and all the evidence points to it and describes it in the same way. If you are devoutly religious, you could well go to fake afterlife realm (called a hollow heaven) that reflects the beliefs of that religion. These places are not real though, they are simply illusions. Eventually, we all go to the same place.

I cannot tell you when you will die, or when you will finally be at peace and over with the twists and turns of your life, but don't worry. Eventually, you'll get there! And when you die, you will go to heaven and not to have to reincarnate until you feel ready to do so again. You will literally have all the time in the world. Your afterlife experience will be filled with peace and love, dear friend. I am certain of it!

You have the art of saying everything while saying nothing. You could run for any political office and get elect. There is a calling for you on this earth after all. If not here you could then be in Heaven where by your views of nothing, is said.
    Glory to Allah.

Perhaps you are correct, dear Secretary, I could have made this clearer. I certainly, though, have no interest in political office. I'm sorry but I do not understand what you mean when you say "If not here you could then be in Heaven where by your views of nothing, is said." Could you please clarify?

Dear Secretary, one of the reasons why these forums work is that we discuss the facts here but we never attack one another. You are entitled to your own beliefs, just as Andrew is. If your own beliefs are different from what Andrew has come to understand by reading the afterlife evidence, then do not demean yourself by attacking him (A politician! Good grief!), but simply go in peace and with the love of everyone who frequents these forums.
