What Happens To People Who Commit Suicide?

Rate this Entry
What happens to people who kill themselves? Do they still get to go to the Summerland like everyone else or are they punished for what they did?

I'm afraid that there is no one answer for this question. Like so many other things about the afterlife, it depends on the person. Just as with everything else that we do in life, no one is going to pass judgment on us or condemn us. We will act as our own judges though, so, if we feel guilty about what we've done and are unable to forgive ourselves, that will prevent us from accessing the Summerland. So, if someone who commits suicide feels no guilt about both the act itself and the affect it had on other people, then he/she will progress into the Summerland with no problems. That's rarely the case though.

While it's true that people who are terminally ill do tend to escape most of the guilt of suicide, the a lot of people who kill themselves do not. A good deal of suicide victims kill themselves to escape somewhat trivial earthly matters. When they die, they, like all dead people, gain the ability to feel as others do. They'll realize the pain they've caused friends and loved ones, and how they have hindered them from completing their earthly missions, and this will give them incredible guilt. It is impossible to enjoy the Summerland until they've gotten over that guilt and forgiven themselves.

Until forgiveness is possible, the suicide victim's spiritual vibration level will plummet, which forces them into the dreadful outer darkness. That person is the only one who can force him/herself into the darkness - no one else can or would want to do it. Everyone else has completely forgiven that person. The outer darkness is not a place that one would want to go. It's pitch-black and full of demon people. These beings are weak and powerless, so if they are stood up to, they will back away. The problem is that people are not strong enough to stand up to these beings - everyone is too obsessed with grief and self pity to think about anything else.

There are highly advanced beings who work day and night to get these people to forgive themselves and move out of the darkness. The problem is that the forgiving is something the only that particular person can do. No one can do it for him/her. It's a long process, but eventually everyone progresses up into the Summerland. So, if you've lost someone to suicide, don't worry - they'll be fine! The best thing you can do for them is to tell them that you love and forgive them and that they should forgive themselves and enter the Summerland!

gOD jUDGES, BE GLAD OF IT, hE SEES THE HEART TRULY, THROUGH FEELINGS UNRULY AND NOTHING IS HID FROM THE START. hE SEES THROUGH THE EYES OF THE SAVIOR WHO DIED, PRAYING FORGIVENESS AND THEN CAME ALIVE.

"aBSENT FROM THE BODY, PRESENT WITH THE LORD." That is what scripture says.
It is the Spirit Realm. God is a Spirit. When we died in the Flesh, Our Spirit returns to that Realm... it's true home... some to life and some to death, but ALL go there.
We are all about time, linear (straight line), Matri- linear/// circular... But God is ALL time... Everyone that is a living soul goes back to the Father.... If we live (eternally) we are in for the ride of our never ending lives (remember Jesus said His people would do his miracles and more>)... or to death... to Nothing-ness... Eternally...
If some one has had so much pain or remorse that they cannot handle it, that doesn't say they were evil... it simply says they did not know the promises of God to know they could rely on Him to help get them through. God knows good hearts from bad. If some one was good enough for you to love, don't you think God could Love you More??? Trust God and don't Fret... the Good Lord has a Plan! Learn of Him.

Hello, dear Rosehippi! Thank you for adding your thoughts here, and you are perfectly right - God loves each of us infinitely, so there is no need to fear. The afterlife evidence is abundant and consistent in telling us what God actually is, and the wonder of it is that Jesus told us precisely the same things about God 2000 years ago, even in small details! Thanks to the afterlife evidence, we now can independently confirm that Jesus did walk the earth 2000 years ago with knowledge that had to have come straight from God.

My only quibble, dear friend, is with your comment that God judges. In decades of combing the afterlife evidence looking for it, I have never seen a single instance of God's ever judging anyone. And indeed, Jesus confirms this truth in the Gospel of John. The Jews of 2000 years ago believed that God was a wrathful judge so Jesus had to wean them from that idea in stages. First He said, "Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father.” (JN 5:23) Then once people understood that God would not judge them, He said, “You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one.” (JN 8:15) And again, “As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it.” (JN 12:47) The afterlife evidence shows consistently that each of us is our own judge, and Jesus told us that as well: “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (MT 7:1-2) This is why learning to forgive is so important! For suicides, as Vita says, the problem is that many of them feel guilty about having committed the act, and they judge themselves harshly. But even if they consign themselves to punishment, the good news is that more advanced beings (or angels, if you prefer) work tirelessly until every one is rescued. You're right - the Good Lord's plan is wonderful, and the best thing that any of us can do to advance our own spiritual growth is to read the Gospel red letters until we know them nearly by heart, and then to live by them! As Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (JN 8:31-32) Thank you for pointing that out, dear Rosehippi!

Scripture says that on that great and terrible Day of the Lord, God will Judge. He judges through His Son Jesus via the Holy Spirit. We Judge the Angels... not each other.

Hi Rosehippi! First off, I just want to make it clear that I am not trying to change your (or anyone's) religion. Please feel free to believe what you feel is true! That being said, in sifting through nearly 200 years of consistent and reliable afterlife evidence, I have seen absolutely nothing that suggests that God judges us. We do not judge each other either, actually. Rather, each of us judges only himself. If you can forgive yourself for your "sins", then no one is going to condemn to for it.

It is my personal experience that the Bible, besides the quotes from Jesus himself in the Gospels, is unreliable at best. As Roberta puts it, the Bible is man's search for God, not man's finding of God. The seemingly-harsh rules of the judgment day appear to be nothing more than man mixing divine messages with his own perspective.

You have the power to will yourself to die. You have the power to slow your body down that your heart just stops. It might take a couple of days, but you will die. A very good example in the Korea War American Army personal who were capture by their enemy simple roll over and died by the scores for no reason. This was found also in WWII where for no reason other then not wanting to live. It is the mind set of the person being held against their will. Some would stopped eating, stopped moving and go to sleep.
Then you have those who end their lives by physical means, hanging, jumping in front of a train, death by cop. The slow method seems to be in all rage, drugs. Can be slow, painful or happy depends on the amont you take.
I have been when people do die, like when they OD. The life drains from their eyes then face.
We can always have an Irish wake and see what happens. Are they faking it?

All true, dear Secretary - each person's mind is immensely powerful. However, very few people are aware of the extent to which their minds can manipulate reality, so for practical purposes they can do very little - they certainly can't simply will their bodies to die. I am sorry that you have had to witness death by overdose, dear friend - no wonder you seem so stressed and unhappy! Please understand that there is tremendous spiritual growth ahead of you, if you will simply take the first steps.
