We often wonder why people who are unkind, self-absorbed, deceitful, and manipulative are successful, but wonderful, loving, kind people often are taken advantage of and denigrated. It can be frustrating. In the corporate world, people who have no regard for others are successful. Their lack of regard is part of the reason they’re successful–they take what they want regardless of the others involved.
All of these things are in the physical realm. In the physical realm, Darwin and Spencer were right: the fittest will survive. That means those who take what they want and horde what they have will get ahead in the physical realm. Those who give out of love, without reservation, expecting nothing return, will be taken advantage of.
But that’s all in the physical realm. The Earth school is a temporary experience for all of us. It isn’t where our eternal selves live. We’re just visiting. Earth school ends. Then, what’s left is who we are: either loving, compassionate, holding high regard for others, giving, and forgiving, or cruel, self-absorbed, insensitive, and greedy. That is the real eternal self in the spiritual realm. The Earth school is temporary; whom we are in spirit is eternal.
Now, as to whether those who are selfish, insensitive, and cruel will be punished, there is no punishment in the spiritual realm. Once this Earth school experience is done, the slate is washed clean. The eternal self continues learning lessons and maturing spiritually. The cruel and insensitive will learn lessons just as the loving and compassionate will. Everyone is at some stage of spiritual growth. But the cruel and insensitive will not be punished for what they did on the Earth plane.
However, there are ramifications of what we do while in Earth school on the physical plane. They are in energy that affects us, affects others, affects society in general, and ultimately, affects even the physical plane. Here’s what I mean. When you say to someone, “I love you,” the energy is very positive. You feel good. The loved one feels good. You’ve just boosted your life energy and their life energy by a tiny, tiny bit. It’s good energy. Then, because of that good energy, the person you love may be kinder to another person and the energy is transferred. Your love may give them the love to love someone else. These are tiny bits of golden love energy that never go away. Once they’re out there, they get passed along.
Now, if we keep passing along this golden energy of love, eventually it will come back around to us, personally from someone, or from a society that is more loving and compassionate. That energy never dies; it never goes away. It is passed along, even in its tiniest form.
If you are a loving person, you more likely will be loved in return. Love is joyous. It’s stimulating. It’s desirable. And so, there is a karma of sorts. A loving person will more likely be loved. If we are loving people whose only desire in life is to be loved, then giving out that energy will result in a return that will give us everything we desire. We won’t get the return from everybody. Some people are caught up in the physical realm and will take the energy and run away, or worse yet, take the energy, then return anger and hate. But we can’t give them anger and hate. We have to give them more of that love energy that someday, little by little, may give them enough of that energy to be more loving themselves.
If we want abundance, things, and pleasure in the physical realm, then we won’t be satisfied with just getting love, and love won’t be as much a part of our lives. If we want only to loved and be loved, when we love others, we’ll receive love in return, and will be perfectly satisfied. We won’t care about what we own or the pleasures we’re experiencing. Love is enough. And love will come from loving.
On other hand, anger, hatred, violence, cruelty, and greed have their own dark energy. When someone is angry with us, they send that low level, dense, dark energy to us. People in turn tend to send anger back to them. That’s the way we were taught from childhood. And the energy that swirls around creates angry people in an angry world. That energy doesn’t go away either. It keeps swirling around from person to person.
Someone is angry with me, so I’m angry with someone else, who is angry with someone else.
But the angry, cruel, violent person will live in an angry, cruel, violent world. That’s a form of karma. A person who sends out low level, negative energy will get low level, negative energy back. And when there’s enough of it swirling around, the society is full of the negative energy and is angry, violent, cruel, insensitive, and greedy. Unfortunately, that describes whole societies on the Earth plane today. And to some extent, it describes much of what we experience in our society. Where does the violence we see today come from. Tiny, tiny words and acts from one person to another that flow together into rivers of anger, violence, cruelty, insensitivity, and greed.
The person who is greedy and wants only abundance, things, and pleasure won’t be satisfied with receiving just love, and so won’t send out loving energy. Love returned for being loving wouldn’t be rewarding. So that person won’t feel loving is worth the bother.
So there are forms of karma, but not in the way people think of them. There’s no tally book of good and bad deeds so the good are rewarded and the bad are punished. Instead there is a karma that we become loving and compassionate so the eternal person we are loves and has compassion. What we grow into is who we are. The way we act on the Earth plane changes whom we are, and helps change others. We become more loving if we love. That’s a form of karma in the spiritual realm.
There’s also karma on the physical realm. The energy we send out comes back to us. If we are loving and compassionate, we’ll want only love and compassion in our loves. That will be our joy. So when we send loving, compassionate energy to others through our words, acts, and thoughts, we’ll receive loving, compassionate energy in return from many of the people. That will be satisfying to us. That’s a form of karma in the physical realm.
On the other hand, if we send out negative energy in violence, cruelty, anger, and greed, we’ll get violence, cruelty, anger, and greed in return. That will just make us more violent, cruel, angry, and greedy, and we’ll live in the violent, cruel, angry, and greedy world we’ve created through that negative energy that swirls around among people. That’s another form of karma in the physical realm.
So there’s no big tally book of deeds that will be punished or rewarded. But there certainly is karma that ultimately creates the physical realm we live in, and creates the person we are in eternity.
