I understand that religion and spirituality are two different things, and I'm not religious. What I don't get though is why people report seeing religious figures? Sometimes there are sightings of Jesus, or of the Virgin Mary. Others see religious figures in their near-death experiences. Are they all hoaxes?
When it comes to religious sightings, such as those of the Virgin Mary, or of Jesus, notice that it is always people who subscribe to that particular religion who see the figures.
I have heard about guardian angels. I cannot figure out if they are just Christian mythic figures, or if they really exist?
Guardian angels do exist, but they are not anything like what Christian teachings show them as. In reality, guardian angels are beings that have never been on earth as humans. They are made of a different type of conscious Mind Energy than incarnate beings are.

My aunt is an extremely devout Christian. She truly believes that everything in the Bible is God's Holy Word and that heaven is a place of clouds and harps where we sing in angelic choirs for all eternity. What's the weather like in the Summerland? Does it snow? Does it rain? I read somewhere that it is always warm and sunny, but what if I want to go snowboarding or skiing? Can I have snow?

I have heard of spiritual possession, but I am not sure if it is a real thing or if it's just a superstition used to explain diseases like schizophrenia. Do people really get possessed? And, if they do, is it demons that possess them?
Yes, spiritual possession does really happen. There are, however a lot of superstition and religious beliefs associated with it that are not true at all. In this post, I'll try to separate the fact from fiction as clearly as I can.
