View Full Version : Things I can do in my own home for evidence?

I've been trying to read through scientific accounts that provide evidence (for anything, God, soul, afterlife), but it seems that there isn't a whole lot from unbiased sources (that is, from scientists that don't necessarily believe in it). I'm reading through some neuroscience studies, but it is already hard to try to jump into a field and learn how to properly read the papers. So, I'm wondering in the mean time, is there anything I can do to try to provide some personal evidence? I've been dabbling with remote viewing, seeing some pretty impressive claims. I'm not getting anything too impressive from myself, no surprise (though the first try was oddly good). I also saw a video (posted on this forum) of talking to the dead using a pendulum. I was never Christian, but grew up in a Christian world, so the thought of talking to the dead creeps me out (I keep thinking of some kind demon haunting/attacking me, like in Paranormal Activity). I would be willing too (I currently live in a house where two people died, my grandmother and my great grandmother, so I have dead people to talk to), but just as a second option. The thought of talking to my spirit guide also creeps me out. I've noticed little things, like random toys going off without anyone in the room, and items being moved. But I guess I want something more definitive.

You may want to read Dr. Melvin Morse's books, including (or especially) "where God lives" and "Closer to the light". His research was conducted on children, the children he cared for when working at a major hospital in Seattle. Also check his website (spiritualscientific.com). He was educated at Harvard and always considered himself a true skeptic until...
Also read Drs. Tucker and Stevenson "Life before life: Chidren's memories of previous lives", Dr. Brian Weiss's "Many lives many masters" (he too was a skeptic), and Dr. Raymond Moody "Life after life" and "Glimpses of eternity". This last one, according to a reviewer is mainly about shared death experiences and"rather scientific"(not my words).
In regards to haunted homes, we - and especially my husband - never believed until we bought our home, built around 1908; it is active, no doubt about it... but that's another subject, I suppose!

Hi ScaredOfTheDarkness,

You are not alone in the search for a definitive proof, but I am afraid that that will be hard to come by from your own home. I have read countless of credible books and articles but at the end of the day there will always be a little doubt.

Ultimately, the 'proof' can only come from within ourselves. For example, I meditate a lot and I kind of 'feel it inside' what I accept as truth or not. I have no doubt that the most important things are Love and Forgiveness. I try to live my life out of love and forgiveness and this gives me great inner peace and I 'know' it's the right path, at least for me.

I think that in this dimension, for the time being, it's hard for us to know it all, to know the whole truth. But if you listen to your inner self, to your guardian spirit, you will feel what you should do and accept. Be open to the inner voice.

Something that maybe you can explore, is Out Of Body (OBE) experience. I am currently reading about it at the moment. I still think that it won't prove anything, but maybe it will give you some answers. You'll need some practice though to be successful.

However note, that one needs to get rid of all the fears, be open minded and ideally having a high vibration (which means one has to get rid of all the negative feelings, thoughts and actions)

Keep looking my friend, don't give up, one day you might get the answers you are after.

Take care

Wonderer.

Wonderer pretty much nailed it on the head, mate.

I was going to reply, but not much point!

We look for signs all the time to validate what we know to be true deep within. I guess for those who don't recognise the signs there needs to be a degree of faith and I guess that's how alot if not all religions started, to start with blind faith and then find or create the proof. This is why we are probably so skeptical and dificult to convince now.

I get smacked in the face everyday with proof, so I don't have to guess anymore.

Just tonight, driving my daughter home from work, It popped into my head that a street light hadn't gone out while passing for almost a week. At that instant, the light we were under went out.

My daughter always rejects this and refuses to believe it happens even though she is often in the car with me but will never turn around to see for herself.

Tonight I turned the car around to prove it to her, this is just the sort of joking around we do with this phenomena.

As we approached the light, she declared it was probably already out, then it suddenly came back on. She shrugged me off as if to say "yeah, right, coincidence", and it went out again while we were bother staring at it. No coincidence there. It didn't come back on after that.

If this sort of thing didn't happen regularly and in different locations all the time I would write it off as a coincidence or faulty light as well.

I agree with what everyone has said here, dear Scared. It's important that you learn as much as you can! And try to learn a bit about statistics - advanced beings tell us that coincidences do not happen, and statistically that is pretty much true, but yet we are surrounded by "coincidences." Look at Fasaga's experience with streetlights, just above this post! Statistically almost impossible for all that to be coincidental! Or my recent experience (http://afterlifeforums.com/showthread.php/698-Jerry-s-Communication) with my beloved brother-in-law. Or Chuck's experience (http://afterlifeforums.com/showthread.php/759-Another-Communication-From-My-Mom-!!-%28I-HOPE!%29)with his treasured mom. The more you learn, the more you begin to see these impossible-to-be-coincidental signs all around us! For me, at this point, life is littered with neon-bright reminders that our dead loved ones are with us and we are always perfectly protected by an infinitely loving God. You will get here too, dear Scared!

Yesterday I took my family to the Mind Body Spirit expo in Brisbane and we were lucky enough to witness first hand a live demonstration of mediumship by Jayde Skye. We knew nothing of her before yesterday and that was the first such live demonstration we had ever attended and I have to say I was blown away.

She was so accurate with all her readings from the audience with specific names, not just first letters. One particular channelling started with a question from the audience. A young man asked if his neice was ok, having passed in October last year at age 8. Jayde channelled the neice almost instantly and the response was amazing. She said "yes, I'm fine but where's mummy, she should be here. Oh, there she is." with this Jayde turned to the other side of the audience, some 2000 people, and pointed out the mother of the deceased child, who was standing no less that 40m away from the man who asked the question (her brother). Jayde did this without hesitation, without even glancing around the room first, it was one uninterupted action.

If I wasn't already convinced before, this would have done it.

G'day Wonderer

I still think we'll end up sharing a beer somewhere one day.

I don't think it's the same Skye as on this forum, Jayde Skye was an Aussie.
