Hello everyone!
When it was first published, The Fun of Dying had a publicity firm under contract. But that firm soon went bankrupt, and the publisher and I have been more or less winging it ever since. Fortunately, some wonderful folks with the International Association for Near-Death Studies (http://iands.org) (IANDS) have taken over what we haven't been doing, and as a result in the past few months I have done a lot of speaking. Here is a link to the page which lists my upcoming appearances: http://funofdying.com/news-events/. I love sharing this best of all possible good news! And I would love to see any afterlifeforums.com friends who can come to any of these events - if you do come, please let me know that you're there.
Thanks to each of you for being an essential part of this extraordinary effort!
Love and hugs - Roberta Grimes

Roberta, what a pleasure it was to meet you on Monday night! I so enjoyed listening to you speak about death and the after life. You are so passionate and knowledgeable about this subject that you really captured the attention of the audience. Keep up the good work, as you say knowledge about the afterlife could be the most important thing to ever happen to humanity, it is also so comforting to so many people.

Roberta, are you based in Austin on a permanent basis? Any chance you'll get out here to Arkansas? If not, my brother-in-law and his wife are actually moving to Austin in the spring, so if you get any engagements near there, it gives me another reason to visit! And the drive from AR to TX wouldn't be a big deal for my husband and I.

Unfortunately, dear friend, I don't do as much speaking as I could because I am still practicing law and grandmothering and all of that keeps me quite busy. Generally I do one weekend per month somewhere, if I do that - but I really love speaking and meeting people! I have done a lot of speaking in Austin already, and nothing more is scheduled at the moment; but dear AllieMarie, if you are going to be in Austin visiting family, perhaps we might have lunch together?

Roberta I would love that!! When hubby and I plan the trip in the spring, I'll definitely let you know!
Law AND grandmothering?! And you still come here and spend time with us?? Bless your heart! Grandmothers are awesome!

I see that you'll be in Chicago at 2650 N Central Park. That's about 6 blocks from where I grew up. If you have time be sure to visit St Hyacinth Basilica at 3636 W. Wolfram, which is about 3 blocks from where you'll be speaking. It's a beautiful church. Though we belonged to the parish just north of there (St Wenceslaus) we did all our weddings and funerals at St Hyacinth.

I just want to thank all the wonderful people in Tucson and Mesa who made my trip to Arizona this past weekend so wonderful! I never get used to the glorious energy that is always in the room when I speak before IANDS groups and at Unity churches, and all the extraordinary people and their unique stories that stay in my heart long after I get home. What a wonderful blessing it is to be able to do this work - I am so grateful for the privilege and the outright joy of it!
Dear Vic, I don't know why I didn't notice your post until now - I'm sorry! My trip to Chicago will be the weekend after next, and I can't wait - this will be my first visit to a spiritualist church, and that is long overdue. Dear friend, I won't have a car so I don't know whether I will make it to your old church, but just knowing that I will be in your childhood neighborhood will be nice - I can catch a bit of your energy!
Thank you again, dear wonderful friends - I am having more fun with this than you can imagine ;-)!

My two appearances in Chicago last weekend were extraordinary. The Chicago IANDS group may be the largest in the country, and its wonderfully charismatic leader - Diane Willis - took me into her home and made me feel so welcome there. We talked for hours! And I love being with IANDS members. Since many of them have had near-death experiences and other extraordinary events in their lives, they are as a group much more spiritually aware; and they ask such wonderful, thoughtful questions! Last Sunday I spoke at the Church of the Spirit in Chicago, and that was a lovefest as well. And - wonderfully - our dear Vic was there! He drove a distance and attended a long church service just so he could give me a hug - thank you, dear friend! Vic is the sixth member of these forums I have met in person, and each time it is wonderful to put face to name and be able to feel such an immediate connection. Again, thanks, Vic - now I know whose wry humor it is that graces these forums ;-)!
My appearances through June are posted under "News and Events" at FunofDying.com (http://www.funofdying.com). I don't plan to travel during July and August, but I will probably begin again in the fall. I love these wonderful chances to make friends and answer questions and introduce ever more people to the glorious certainty of their own eternal life!

Roberta, It was a pleasure meeting you. My only regret is that we did not get a chance to spend some time together and chat. My friend that I came with has 3 little kids and a wife who works in a hospice and is getting her masters in nursing, I had to get him back home to watch the kiddies.
The Church of the Spirit in Chicago, in my old 'hood, was amazing. I felt so at home there among the diversity of the beautiful people. My friend told me that he plans to go back there with his wife.
I'm sure we'll run into each other again some day and have that chat.

And as I'd been, well you-know-what, I couldn't know you were in Mesa - just minutes away and our local shopping area....

I am sorry to have missed you, dear Mac! But I expect to be going back to Mesa - probably next January - and I hope that we can meet then....

I hope I'll remember but it's a long time ahead. We should be around in early January if not before....

Dear Chuck, I would love to meet you, too! I don't control where my invitations come from, and I expect to be speaking less often as The Fun of Dying ages. I had been supposed to write a book on communications to follow it, but between practicing law and helping with my grandchildren its completion date keeps getting delayed. (We have learned why sleeping is necessary, but it would be great if sleeping took less time ;-)!) One of my children now lives in Seattle, and although she is generally the one who visits us, it is possible that we may be going there at some point - I will let you know, dear friend!
