Hi all,
I just figured out now how to start a new thread! Sorry to place my poem in an ongoing section! Wow, I am horrible with computers! :(
Anyway, heard an interesting commercial on the radio yesterday. Apperently there is a new police character on CSI. They were interviewing him about the show. He said that his character is being "inspired" by his wife who has passed away (in the show). The interviewer said, "now that could be scary." And this actor said, "no, she actually inspires me to be a better and more loving person on the show." Hmmmmm Think about this for a minute. This is a friendly acceptable way to many people, and it is getting a message out there . I think of RudeAwakening and how he so badly wants people to know about the Afterlife. Could an actor ultimately be a help?
Have any of you seen the movie Dragonfly with Kevin Costner? Anyway , this is an awesome movie but what is better is the comentary after the credits are done after the movie. They talk about signs from our loved ones with the producers and actors. They talk about the afterlife some as well. Could this avenue be a "friendly" and more acceptable way as so many people are influenced by media and different actors and actresses, to work on getting the message out there?????
Curious on your thoughts !

Hi Carol,

Certainly Roberta would have a better idea on how awareness of such things is spread, but I feel most certainly that the media, especially film and TV producers in recent decades have been absolutely instrumental in helping to educate people, especially in areas such as bigotry and discrimination.

I too have noticed an increase in TV series, documentary’s, movies etc, associated with the afterlife and related subjects. And it truly smacks of Hollywood again trying to right the wrongs in society. I’m speaking of the wrong being so effectively perpetrated by “modern science” and religion. So many people, just like you and I, have great awareness of the afterlife, especially in Hollywood. Not a lot of blind science nerds inhabiting those occupations. The abundance of creativity alone allows for incredible openness to such things.

So yeah I think it’s terrific, but another way to look at it is this stuff has been around for years and the blindly skeptical will just see it as simply another silly fantasy show like Ghost Whisperer or Medium. The spiritually blind seem to pride themselves on their “rational” minds and will cling to anything that supports their theories and ignore anything that doesn’t. The irony that they see themselves as the strong rational people on this planet is staggering.

The CSI show sounds a lot like another series that debuted last night called “A Gifted Man” Same basic premise. HBO did a special a year ago on LilyDale, the medium capital of the world. A skeptic would just watch that and say “ah bullxxxx.” But yeah, certainly many will watch it and go wow, maybe there’s something there after all. But movies like Dragon Fly have little to no effect on the skeptic. They just think to themselves how can people be so gullible.

So the real question is, how to impact a skeptic? You ignore them! Maybe if we just keep doing what we are doing, they may become "skeptically interested". If they truly are not interested, they move on. But when they come back and challenge, they actually have some question of what this is about. Back in their mind, they may actually wonder. Whenever somebody goes through a loss of a loved one, mortality stares you in the face. Is it really the end???
So who knows! We just need to keep doing what we are doing.
I definately agree that the media can be good and it can be bad. The signs in the movie dragonfly where presented as scary. I did not appreciate that at all! But could a miracle happen and have them present things the correct way?
I think of Star Wars and The Force... the good and bad forces. Mikey always tells me may The Good Force be with you! :)
We just need to keep plugging along!

I agree with you all, dear friends, that interesting things are happening everywhere now! Some are really in-your-face, but many are so subtle that you hardly notice them. And all of them seem to be directed toward raising the level of planetary awareness (in western countries, at least) to prepare us for an elevation of human consciousness. It is a fascinating process to watch, and it is thrilling to have our small part to play in it. But is is very important never to forget that we are not driving this train! Our part is to fling a shovelful of coal into the hopper when we feel that we are being instructed to do so, but the engineers are operating at a far higher level. (I don't know about you, but to me that is a great relief! I would have no idea how to do any part of an undertaking that is so momentous.)

Here is what I think is happening:

1) Superstitions are being weakened. Worldwide, people are becoming less religious but more spiritual. And the dogmatic religious movements that remain are being marginalized. This seems to be a necessary first step, since based upon the afterlife evidence we would have to say that there is no religion which is even close to the truth.

2) Atheism is sharpening up and asserting itself. In order for people to later realize that God is everything that exists, I think that they likely have to understand what not-God actually means. Atheism is not the absence of beliefs, but rather it is its own strong belief-system. And I note with satisfaction that atheists like Dawkins and Hitchins are doing their part to present atheism's best arguments.

3) Quantum physics is running even more off the rails. Not only has the Great Hadron Collider not yet found a solid particle, but we now have word that a particle has been found that breaks the speed-of-light barrier (we are sorry, dear Einstein!). And every steadily crazier theory being put forth by quantum physicists now is a non-starter from its first publication. In order for the first mainstream quantum physicists to be ready to consider the afterlife evidence - and thereby begin to see what quantum physics really is telling us - they will first have to give up completely on every other possibility.

Meanwhile, while all these old belief-systems are gradually withering away:

4) Medical science is bringing us extraordinary new information. From all the revelations that come through NDEs to the amazing facts about consciousness and the brain being brought to us by neuroscience, without all these medical advances we would still be in the dark about so many things!

5) The Internet is creating a global village. Every person on this website would have been struggling on his own to figure all this stuff out ten years ago, but now we all can gather at a single campfire and reason together! Isn't that extraordinary? With the advent of the internet, people all over this planet can share information and reach shared conclusions at the speed of that faster-than-light new particle.

6) All of this is seeping into our global cultures. The new movies and TV shows which feature death and the afterlife as we understand them in modern terms are just the beginning! People who are teenagers and younger now will have no memory of a time when it wasn't possible to know about the genuine afterlife. And that fact is going to rock the world.

7) The population worldwide is aging. As baby-boomers move through their sixties and into their seventies (the oldest are now 65), What Happens Next is going to be the Next Big Thing. Throughout their lives, the leading edge of the boomer generation has set trends - from suburbia in the fifties to the youthquake rebellion of the sixties to the mellower disco of the seventies to the get-ours money obsessions of the eighties, and so on. Whatever the boomers are interested in, theirs is such a big age cohort that the culture tends to follow it. I believe that all of the above is preparation for the after-life agequake of the 2020s and beyond!

- What do you all think??

It really is amazing when think of just the sheer number of subtle (and often not-so-subtle) hints being shown to us! By far the most accurate portrayal of death that I have seen came from the end of the BBC series Robin Hood. It's based on the legend, but only loosely. Anyway, at the end Robin Hood dies and his death is perfectly portrayed because his wife comes to him and holds out her hand, he takes it, and instantly stands us. All weakness is gone and then they just walk away. It really was a great ending because most TV series don't end on such a happy note!

Roberta you are so right! Mikey continues to tell me that Heaven is guiding in many different ways. There are many different "avenues" in how we are progressing. It will not be just one thing that will make the turning point. We are just one piece of the big puzzle...the Big Picture, ... The Spiritual Shift. He always tell me, "things will happen as they are suppose to. You will be guided accordingly." Mikey knows "for sure" that changes are coming. He tells me (us) to be prepared. Curiosity is building with many. And "skeptical interest is good!" Remember, no one has to believe anything. Quite frankly, you never would have seen me on this forum 5 years ago. But things change. We are in constant change. It is this change that brings questions and curiosity. Through this, learning occurs. And together we grow in "awareness". Just keep doing what you are doing. It is all good. Everyone's opinion helps us all grow! Mikey says just remember the basis is love. Love, love, love! :) Heaven is watching and guiding us always! :)

I agree with all of this! I do think the world is awakening spiritually. I notice now a lot of things on TV and in the media that are leading people in a direction of being more open to the truth. Roberta's post really rings true to me. Even for myself, I went through a period of non-believing, simply because I knew what I had been told as a child could not be correct - it didn't make sense! But not believing in anything didn't feel right to me either. I have a had quite a long path but I am glad I have found my way here!

Today I was having coffee with a friend and she started talking about an old movie called, "Defending Your Life". It was from the late 80's or early 90's. Meryl Streep (sp?) was in it for sure. Anyway, it was about a couple who had passed and when they got to Heaven they sat down and had a review of their life (it was like a movie) and they had to defend their actions. Then they advanced accordingly. Interesting for sure. Even back then, there were movies that offered some insite. I feel Heaven has been at it awhile trying to teach in different ways. Mikey says Heaven is pushing more now to get the message of love out there. Understand it takes time, but many ways are being used. Mikey hopes the forum is a huge success as he feels it is a wonderful teaching tool! :)

I think your right, Carol - Heaven's been laying the groundwork for a major spiritual awakening for decades!

... And we are all delighted that you and Mikey are helping to make these forums successful, dear Carol!!

I remember that movie. It isn't accurate, but it is interesting and compelling nonetheless. This is going to be exciting to watch and to be a small part of, dear wonderful friends. Unlike most people, we know what is happening. We are aware of where all of this is heading. And we are having so much fun with it ;-)!
