When people talk about their near death experiences, most often they are greeted or see vision of Jesus, Allah, angels, etc. Science says these NDE are just intense dreams induced by DMT in the brain, hence why these visions closely mimic the religious/cultural beliefs of the individuals. My question is, why is there not a "universal" NDE? Why do Christians see Jesus, Muslims see Allah, etc? Although rare, I have read a few instances where the person will see a deity or figure that is not of their faith or belief system. Is there any particular reason for these occurrences?

Another query I have; how do spirits "see" each other. Do we possess a bodily form in the afterlife to distinguish ourselves, or is it more akin to energy and thought process that differentiates us?

What great questions, Laxtreme56! There isn't the space here to answer them properly, but I will give you quick answers in the hope that you will read further on these forums and learn more detailed truths on your own:

1) Our minds are part of eternal Mind, and part of literally creating our reality. Indeed, there is a "universal" NDE phenomenon, in that the general experience is much the same from infancy to old age and in every culture; but the details will be highly personal because in fact reality is highly personal. There is strong evidence, too, that people at or near death are shown just the religious figures and dead people and pets that they will most completely trust, since once we are out of our bodies if we are going to complete the transition to death these greeters are going to have to keep us from straying and help us complete the death process. Our minds are so powerfully creative, and at the same time they are so emotional, that without the guidance of those we love and trust there is a risk that we will become caught up in the grief of our loved ones or caught up in the strangeness of being dead or in some other way distracted, and we might then become earthbound.

2) Spirits know each other without bodies, but in the middle and lower afterlife levels we have solid bodies anyway. What are commonly referred to as Levels Five and below are as solid as the material universe, and the middle levels look like a gorgeous, colorful, pollution-free and decay-free version of the earth in whatever culture the dead person is expecting to see. The afterlife levels are ENORMOUS - each of them may be as large as the universe - but since travel there is by thought and instantaneous, the size of the place is not an inconvenience. Not only do we possess solid bodies, but since our own minds create these bodies we generally look like a more beautiful (or handsome) version of the young adult we once were. How is that for perfect?!

Dear Laxtreme56, you shouldn't take one person's word for any of this! I hope that you will get The Fun of Dying's study guides at funofdying.com (http://funofdying.com/) and do some of your own reading. The more reading of afterlife literature you do, the more convinced of all of these truths you will become. It makes for an endlessly fascinating hobby!
